Shailene is an American actor and activist. She became popular with her performance as Alexandra "Alex" King, an teen who is suffering from addiction to drugs, as seen in The Descendants. In the wake of her performance, which was awe-inspiring of The Descendants she went on to perform several other characters that showcased her talents. Shailene managed to establish herself in Hollywood early on during her career, which by itself is a great achievement. She began her career in television and commercials, before moving on to Hollywood movies. Thanks to her acting skills she's won numerous accolades, such as MTV Movie Awards, People's Choice Awards, and Teen Choice Awards. Additionally, prestigious awards like those of the BAFTA Awards and Golden Globe Awards are also awarded to her.
